Black Friday 2026 falls on November 27, with Cyber Monday on November 30. We can’t tell you what portable fridge prices will look like that week, and we won’t pretend to. What we can give you is a baseline: the prices we saw for our picks on October 29, 2026. We also list what to check before you click buy, so that a “deal” is actually on the fridge you want. Whatever you find, check the live price and terms on the day.

How do portable fridge prices behave?

This category’s prices already move around a lot outside of holiday sales. Things we saw in late October:

  • Brand sites and Amazon don’t always match. BougeRV’s own site showed the CRD2 V2.0 43QT battery bundle at $499.99 “sale” against $639.99 “regular”, while Amazon had the same bundle for $429.99.
  • Sometimes they match exactly. Dometic’s US site listed the CFX5 55IM at $1,199.99, the same as Amazon.
  • Brands run their own promotions. Anker and EcoFlow both had Halloween promotions on their sites on October 29, though not necessarily on coolers.

So a holiday “sale” price isn’t automatically lower than a normal week’s price. Compare against a baseline, not against the strikethrough “list price” on the listing.

Prices from our data, checked on Amazon on October 29, 2026. Treat anything clearly below these as a genuine drop, and anything at or above them as a normal price.

What should you check before you buy?

1. The exact size, bundle and listing

Fridges are sold as many separate listings, and a discount on one doesn’t mean a discount on the one you want:

  • Duplicate listings. On October 29 a separate ICECO VL45 ProS listing was priced at $1,137, against $749 on the ICECO-sold listing we link.
  • Bundles. ICECO sells the VL60 Dual Zone with its cover (about $849), without it (about $862), and with a battery (about $988). BougeRV’s CRD2 V2.0 43QT was $429.99 with its battery and $299.99 without. EcoFlow sells each GLACIER Classic size with and without its 298 Wh battery.
  • Sizes and colors. Each size is its own listing. Even colors can differ: the BougeRV 23 Quart was $144.39 in grey and $159.99 in black.

The FTC’s online shopping advice says to note the model number and size, and to read the terms of an advertised deal, including whether you have to buy something you don’t want to get the low price. Our product links go to the exact size and bundle we recommend.

2. New, renewed or used

The Dometic CFX5 45, the size most reviewers test, was only offered used on Amazon in late October, at about $940. A used or renewed fridge can be fine, but check the warranty and return window. The FTC notes that “refurbished” or “close-out” can mean less-than-perfect condition.

3. The seller and the warranty

  • Who sells it? Brand-run stores (ICECO, AnkerDirect) and Amazon itself are the safest bets. We don’t recommend ARB fridges, which were only available through third parties.
  • Which warranty applies? Dometic US offers a 5-year limited warranty, while the Amazon listings say 2 years. Keep your receipt and register with Dometic.

4. The return policy

This matters more than usual for battery fridges. Anker marks the EverFrost 2 as non-returnable on Amazon because the battery ships as hazmat. The FTC also says return policies for sale items can differ, so check before you pay.

5. The price history

Don’t trust “was” prices. The FTC suggests comparison sites that offer price alerts. Set alerts on the exact listings you’re watching now, so you’ll know on November 27 whether the price is really lower than it has been.

What’s worth buying on sale, and what isn’t?

Worth watching:

  • A 40–50 quart single zone, if you don’t own a fridge yet. The VL45 ProS is the one to watch.
  • A battery fridge, if a drop narrows the gap. The EverFrost 2 40L usually costs about twice the BougeRV CRD2 bundle.
  • Power gear. If a power station or LiFePO4 battery is discounted, check it against our battery runtime math before you buy.

Skip, even on sale:

  • Thermoelectric “fridges.” In OutdoorGearLab’s test the Igloo Iceless VersaTemp never reached 40°F. See compressor vs thermoelectric.
  • More fridge than you need. A big dual zone at 20% off still costs more to buy, carry and power. Size it first.

Bottom line

Use the late-October prices above as your baseline, set alerts on the exact listings, and on November 27 buy only if the price on the right size and bundle is clearly lower, from a seller you trust, with a return policy you can live with. If no deal shows up, these fridges are still fairly priced. Our best portable fridges of 2026 and best budget picks explain why each one made the list. Check today’s price before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

Do portable fridges go on sale for Black Friday?
We can't promise any specific 2026 discount. Prices in this category already move often, and brands run their own sales: in late October BougeRV's site showed its CRD2 battery bundle at a sale price, while Amazon had it cheaper still. Compare the day's price to the baselines on this page.
Should I wait for Black Friday to buy a 12V fridge?
If your trip is after Thanksgiving and the fridge you want is in stock, waiting a few weeks costs little. If you need it for a trip before then, buy now at a fair price; a fridge that pays back in ice within a season isn't worth missing a trip over.
Is a renewed or used portable fridge a good deal?
It can be, but check the seller, warranty and return window. On October 29 the Dometic CFX5 45 was only offered used on Amazon (about $940), which is why we feature the in-stock CFX5 55IM instead. The FTC notes that words like refurbished or close-out can mean less-than-perfect condition.
Which portable fridge is the best value to buy on sale?
For most people the ICECO VL45 ProS at about $749 or less. On a budget, the Euhomy 59 Quart (about $235–260) or BougeRV 23 Quart (about $145–150). For a cordless fridge, the BougeRV CRD2 V2.0 with battery (about $430) or the Anker EverFrost 2 40L if it drops below its usual $750–800.
