- The 45 W figure is the listing's 'average power consumption'; Euhomy doesn't publish a peak rating or an Ah/h figure. OGL measured 9.2 W average DC draw at steady state (ambient not stated).
- Weight: 15 kg (33.1 lb) on the listing vs 28.7 lb measured by OGL.
- The listing mentions app control without naming the connection type; we list Bluetooth.

How long will a battery run the Euhomy 59 qt?
Estimated runtime on a 100 Ah LiFePO4 battery (about 90 Ah usable) with the fridge set to 37°F and the lid mostly closed. EUHOMY doesn't publish an average draw for this model, so these figures are estimated from its size, calibrated on fridges that do publish one, and are rougher than usual.
| Outside temp | Avg draw | Per day | Runtime | Solar to break even* |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 70°F | 0.68 Ah/h | ~190 Wh | 5.6 days | ~50 W |
| 85°F | 0.98 Ah/h | ~280 Wh | 3.8 days | ~80 W |
| 100°F | 1.29 Ah/h | ~370 Wh | 2.9 days | ~100 W |
* With 5 peak sun hours and 25% system losses. Freezer settings, frequent opening and warm food all add load. Try your own battery and weather in the battery runtime calculator.
The Euhomy 59QT is a big single-zone compressor fridge that costs about $234–260 on Amazon (check today’s price), which makes it the cheapest fridge per quart we track by a wide margin. It runs on 12/24 V DC or the included AC adapter, has 3-level battery protection and app control, and OutdoorGearLab found it holds temperature as accurately as a Dometic once it’s cold. It’s our best budget pick for families and car campers who want lots of space without paying premium prices. Before you buy, use the fridge vs ice cost calculator to see how quickly it pays for itself against bags of ice.
Who it’s for (and who should skip it)
The Euhomy suits budget-minded families and groups on multi-day car-camping trips, and anyone who wants one large fridge for a weekend’s food and drinks. If you can plug it in at home the night before and pack it with cold food, its biggest weakness barely matters.
Skip it if you’ll regularly load warm groceries mid-trip and need them cold fast, if you want a deep freezer, or if you need a split fridge and freezer. Those buyers are better served by a Secop-powered fridge like the ICECO VL45 ProS or a dual-zone unit. Also measure your vehicle first: at about 21 inches tall, it’s a tall box for a cargo area under a parcel shelf.
Cooling: accurate, but slow
OutdoorGearLab’s testing tells the whole story. Once it reached temperature, the Euhomy held its set point with just 0.6°F of average deviation, the same figure OGL recorded for the far more expensive Dometic CFX5 45. That’s better control than several fridges that cost twice as much.
Getting there took 11.2 hours. That’s slow by any standard, and it means you can’t treat this fridge as a quick-chill box. The coldest temperature OGL reached was 5.9°F, well short of the −4°F rating, so it will keep frozen food frozen but won’t flash-freeze anything.
The practical routine: plug it into the wall the evening before, set it a couple of degrees colder than your target, and load it with already cold or frozen food. Our hot weather tips add a few more ways to keep a slow fridge ahead of the heat.
Power and practical use
Euhomy lists 45 W as “average power consumption” but doesn’t publish a peak rating or an Ah/h figure. OGL measured 9.2 W average at steady state, without stating the ambient temperature. Our own capacity-based estimate is about 312 Wh a day on a 90°F day at 37°F inside, or about 1.08 Ah per hour at 12 V. That’s normal for a box this size.
By our estimate, a 100 Ah LiFePO4 battery would run it for about three and a half days in summer heat, and replacing a day’s use with solar takes about 83 W of panel at five peak sun hours, so a 100 W panel in good sun keeps up. Use the battery runtime calculator for your own battery and temperatures, or read how to power a portable fridge for setup options.
OGL weighed it at 28.7 lb (the listing says 33.1 lb), which is light for its size, and noted that it runs quietly. The listing mentions app control without naming the connection type.
Reliability and warranty
Euhomy covers the fridge for 1 year, plus 2 years of tech support per the Amazon listing. That’s the weakest coverage among our budget picks; the BougeRV models carry 2 years. On the other hand, the 59QT has a long sales history, with about 2,990 Amazon reviews averaging 4.4 stars when we checked. Euhomy doesn’t publish the compressor make, so there’s no brand-name compressor to judge it by.
Sizes and alternatives
Euhomy sells the same design in 37QT (about $199) and 48QT (about $209). Given how little the price changes, the 59QT is usually the better buy if it fits your vehicle; drop down a size only for space. Our guide on what size portable fridge you need helps you decide.
If you want a smaller box that cools in about an hour, the BougeRV 23 Quart costs less but holds less than half as much. If you want a battery and wheels at a budget price, look at the BougeRV CRD2 V2.0 43QT with battery.
Bottom line
The Euhomy 59QT gives you the most fridge for the least money, and OutdoorGearLab’s data shows it holds temperature like a premium unit once it’s there. The catch is an 11-hour pull-down and a freezer floor around 6°F, so pre-cool it at home and pack cold food. If you load warm food mid-trip or need a deep freeze, a Secop-powered ICECO is worth the extra money. For more options at this price, see our best budget portable fridges.
