The Anker SOLIX EverFrost 2 40L and the EcoFlow GLACIER Classic 35L solve the same problem: a real compressor fridge you can use away from the car, at the beach, on a boat or at a tailgate, because the battery comes with it. They’re close in size and price, but they make different trade-offs. The Anker costs about $750–800 and the EcoFlow about $699. Below we compare them spec by spec and say which one to buy. Note that our Wh/day figure for the Anker is estimated from its capacity. The EcoFlow figure is scaled from EcoFlow’s published draw, so the two aren’t measured the same way.

Power and runtime

This is the closest call. The EcoFlow is the only one with a formally published draw: 0.57 Ah per hour in Eco mode at 77°F outside and 39°F inside, which works out to about 165 Wh a day. Anker publishes only a runtime: up to 52 hours on one battery, tested empty in Eco mode at 77°F with 39°F inside. That implies roughly 5.5 W, or about 0.46 Ah per hour, under nearly the same conditions. It’s our derived figure, not Anker’s.

Independent data leans the Anker’s way too. OutdoorGearLab measured the lowest steady-state draw in its group, 5.8 W, on the “Anker Everfrost 40” it linked to this listing. Its measured weight (56.1 lb) was about 5 lb heavier than Anker’s spec, so we treat the match as likely rather than certain. OutdoorGearLab’s EcoFlow results appear to be for the original Glacier, so we don’t apply them here.

What to expect in summer: by our estimate at 90°F outside and 37°F inside, one battery runs the Anker about 24 hours and the EcoFlow about 28 hours. These are estimates using a 90% usable share of each battery. Food, lid openings and a hot car all cut them further. Try your own numbers in the battery runtime calculator.

Freezing costs far more on either. EcoFlow lists 1.8 Ah per hour in freezer mode at −0.4°F, about three times its fridge-mode figure.

Where the Anker wins

Getting it to the site. Six-inch all-terrain wheels and a tow handle that doubles as a prep table. Mashable found the wheels handled pavement, trails and deep gravel. The EcoFlow has no wheels, and 45 lb is a real carry.

Longer trips. The EverFrost 2 has a slot for a second battery. A spare Anker 288 Wh battery costs about $250, and Anker claims up to 104 hours on two.

Warranty and track record. The Amazon listing shows a 5-year limited warranty, against EcoFlow’s 2 years. The EverFrost 2 is also the better-proven battery fridge. The Glacier Classic bundle had only about 19 Amazon reviews averaging 3.8 stars when we checked.

Phone charging. Each battery has USB-C (60 W) and works as a power bank on its own.

Where the EcoFlow wins

Price. About $50–100 less with the battery. A spare EcoFlow 298 Wh battery is also cheaper, at about $174.

Weather and noise. It’s IPX4 rated and EcoFlow quotes under 38.5 dB, which suits boats, beaches and sleeping next to it.

Charging flexibility. It accepts 12/24 V from the car at up to 100 W and up to 110 W of solar, slightly more headroom than the Anker. EcoFlow lists a 100 W USB-C port on its site.

Size and dual-zone options. The 35L is smaller and lighter. If you want two zones, the Glacier Classic 45L and 55L dual-zone bundles cost about $849 and $899, less than the $949.99 EverFrost 2 58L dual zone.

EcoFlow ecosystem. If you already own an EcoFlow power station and solar panels, the Glacier fits that setup and app.

Practical drawbacks

The Anker is heavy at 50.7 lb, and Mashable called it awkward to lift. Each battery weighs about 5.5 lb and both slot in on one side, so it’s lopsided. Anker lists 3.6 hours to recharge from solar, wall or car. OutdoorGearLab also measured looser temperature control (about 3.3°F average difference from the display), so a fridge thermometer is worth adding. Anker marks it non-returnable on Amazon because of the battery.

The EcoFlow’s review base is small and mixed. Its 45 lb net weight doesn’t say whether the battery is included. And dual zones aren’t available at this size.

Getting the most from either battery

A built-in battery is convenient, but it’s still only about 290–300 Wh. A few habits make a big difference to how long it lasts:

  • Pre-cool on wall power. Pulling warm food and a warm box down to 39°F is the hungriest part of the day. Do it at home on AC, then unplug with a full battery.
  • Run it from the car while you drive. Both run from a 12 V socket, so the battery stays full until you park.
  • Keep it shaded and closed. Every 10°F of extra heat around the box makes the compressor work harder. Our hot weather tips cover the rest.
  • Add solar for multi-day stops. A 100 W folding panel suits both fridges’ solar inputs (Anker 100 W max, EcoFlow 110 W max). Check that the panel’s connector matches before you order. On the Anker, solar charging only works with a battery installed. See our solar panel sizing guide for how much you need.

Both batteries also charge phones over USB-C, but every watt-hour that goes to a laptop is one the fridge doesn’t get.

Which one should you buy?

Buy the Anker EverFrost 2 40L if you’ll roll it across campsites or beaches, want the option of a second battery for multi-day trips, and want the longer warranty and better track record.

Buy the EcoFlow Glacier Classic 35L if you already use EcoFlow power gear, need weather resistance for a boat or beach, want the quieter and smaller box, or plan to step up to a dual-zone size.

Consider the BougeRV CRD2 V2.0 with battery if price matters most. The CRD2 V2.0 43QT with 240 Wh battery costs about $430 with dual zones and wheels, though it’s a 2026 model with a thin review record.

Verdict

For most people who want a fridge that runs away from the car, we’d buy the Anker EverFrost 2 40L. It’s easier to move, better proven and longer warrantied, and the second-battery slot covers long weekends. The EcoFlow Glacier Classic 35L has the better published efficiency figure and a lower price, and it’s the natural choice for EcoFlow owners. Both prices change often, so check today’s price before you order. If you’ll always be near the car, a plug-in fridge plus a portable power station is usually better value. Frequently asked questions

Which runs longer on battery, the EverFrost 2 or the Glacier Classic?
On the makers' claims, the Anker: up to 52 hours at 39°F versus up to 43 hours for the EcoFlow, both on one battery in roughly 77°F air. Anker's figure is from an empty cooler. In real use with food, lid openings and summer heat, expect a lot less from either. The Anker can also take a second battery, which Anker says doubles runtime.
Can I run either one from my car?
Yes. Both run and recharge from a 12 V car socket, a wall outlet and solar, and both batteries double as USB-C power banks. The EcoFlow lists 12/24 V car input up to 100 W and solar up to 110 W; the Anker lists 95 W from the car or wall adapter and 100 W of solar.
Is the EcoFlow Glacier Classic 35L dual zone?
No. EcoFlow says the 35L is single zone, switchable between fridge and freezer. Dual zones come on the 45L and 55L sizes, which cost about $849 and $899 with a battery on Amazon.
Can I return a battery fridge on Amazon?
Check before you buy. Anker ships the EverFrost 2 from AnkerDirect and marks it non-returnable on Amazon because the battery ships as hazardous material.
