# The Best Battery-Powered Portable Fridges of 2026: Cordless 12V Fridges Compared
Updated October 30, 2026 By [Portable Fridge Guide Editorial Team](https://portablefridgeguide.com/about/) [How we research](https://portablefridgeguide.com/how-we-research/)

Prices are approximate and change often, so check the current price before you buy.

## Key takeaways

- **Anker EverFrost 2 40L** is our top battery-powered pick: the best-proven cordless fridge on Amazon, with wheels and a 288 Wh battery for about $750–800.
- The **BougeRV CRD2 V2.0 43QT** bundle adds dual zones and a 240 Wh battery for about $430, but it's a 2026 model with a short track record.
- Maker runtime claims are measured at 77°F with an empty fridge in Eco mode. At 90°F, expect roughly a day from a 240–300 Wh battery by our estimates.
- Already own a power station? A plug-in fridge plus that station can match a battery fridge for less money. Use the [battery runtime calculator](https://portablefridgeguide.com/tools/battery-runtime-calculator/) to check.

A battery-powered fridge carries its own power, so you can roll it to a picnic table, the beach or the far end of a campsite without running a cord from the car. The catch is that a fridge battery is small, usually 240–300 Wh. That’s enough for about a day in summer heat, not a week. Below are the cordless fridges we’d buy on Amazon, ranked from maker specs, Amazon listings and independent tests, with runtime estimates you can actually plan around. We don’t test fridges ourselves ([how we research](https://portablefridgeguide.com/how-we-research/)). Prices change often, so check today’s price.

## Battery fridges at a glance

*Fridge set to 39°F at 77°F outside and 37°F at 90°F outside, lid mostly closed, assuming the battery’s full rated capacity is usable. The EcoFlow figures are scaled from its published draw. The others are our capacity-based estimates, not measurements.

## 1. Anker SOLIX EverFrost 2 40L: Best battery-powered fridge

The [EverFrost 2 40L](https://portablefridgeguide.com/fridges/anker-everfrost-2-40/) is the cordless fridge with the strongest track record. The removable 288 Wh LiFePO4 battery slides into one of two bays, and a [second battery](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DRFX1YDD?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20) (about $250) doubles the runtime. Anker claims 52 hours on one battery and 4.3 days on two. It measured those figures with the fridge empty, in Eco mode, at 39°F inside and 77°F outside ([Anker’s test notes](https://www.ankersolix.com/products/everfrost-2-40l-electric-cooler)). Our estimate under the same conditions is closer to 37 hours, and about 27 hours at 90°F.

It’s also frugal. OutdoorGearLab recorded the lowest steady-state draw in its test group, 5.8 W, for an Anker Everfrost 40 linked to this listing. The battery doubles as a 60 W USB-C power bank. It recharges from 100 W of solar, a car socket, a wall outlet or USB-C. The 6-inch wheels and a tow handle that doubles as a prep table make it the easiest fridge here to move across sand or gravel.

The downsides: OutdoorGearLab measured looser temperature control (about 3.3°F average deviation), it weighs over 50 lb, and the battery takes about 3.6 hours to recharge even from a wall outlet. At about $750–800, it costs roughly $300 more than the BougeRV bundle. Anker sells it as non-returnable on Amazon because the battery ships as hazmat. The listing states a 5-year limited warranty. The [EverFrost 2 23L](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FG7SHVT8?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20) (about $700) is a smaller option, and the [58L dual zone](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DRCNQW2C?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20) (about $950) is the larger one. [Check the EverFrost 2 40L on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DRCNMMZ9?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20).

## 2. BougeRV CRD2 V2.0 43QT with 240Wh battery: Best value

The [CRD2 V2.0 bundle](https://portablefridgeguide.com/fridges/bougerv-crd2-v2-43-battery/) packs a lot in for about $430: two independently controlled zones (each −4°F to 68°F), a clip-in 240 Wh LiFePO4 battery, wheels, a telescoping handle, lights in both compartments and a 150 W solar input, the highest of the battery fridges here.

It’s also the least proven. It’s a 2026 release with about 44 Amazon reviews, BougeRV doesn’t publish a compressor make or an average draw, and its spec table doesn’t state battery protection. Runtime claims conflict: up to 20 hours on Amazon and up to 28 hours on BougeRV’s site, with no test conditions given. Our estimate is about 26 hours at 77°F and 19 hours at 90°F with both zones as fridges. Running one side as a freezer would shorten that considerably. The warranty is 2 years, and it weighs about 51 lb with the battery.

Buy it if you want cordless dual zones without spending EverFrost money and you’re comfortable being an early adopter. If you’ll always have vehicle power, the [no-battery version](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GHM9SKZR?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20) is about $300. [See the CRD2 V2.0 bundle on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GJYCVHJN?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20).

## 3. EcoFlow GLACIER Classic 35L: Most efficient on paper

The [GLACIER Classic 35L](https://portablefridgeguide.com/fridges/ecoflow-glacier-classic-35/) is the only fridge in our data with a published fridge-mode draw: 0.57 Ah/h (165 Wh a day) at 39°F inside and 77°F outside in Eco mode ([EcoFlow spec table](https://us.ecoflow.com/products/glacier-classic-portable-refrigerator)). That lines up with EcoFlow’s claim of up to 43 hours on the 298 Wh plug-in battery. EcoFlow also publishes the freezer-mode figure: 1.8 Ah/h, or 520 Wh a day, about three times as much. It charges six ways, including solar (up to 110 W) and the car, and it’s rated IPX4 and under 38.5 dB.

The weak points are its record and its handling. The battery bundle has only about 19 Amazon reviews averaging 3.8 stars. There are no wheels, so you carry 45 lb by hand. The warranty is 2 years. It makes most sense if you already own EcoFlow gear, and the [spare 298 Wh battery](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F4DZQ8QM?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20) costs about $174. The 45L and 55L dual-zone versions with battery are about $849 and $899 ([45L](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GLPBG1LP?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20), [55L](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GLPGFJPB?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20)); EcoFlow rates them at up to 39 hours. Our [EverFrost 2 vs Glacier Classic comparison](https://portablefridgeguide.com/posts/anker-everfrost-2-vs-ecoflow-glacier-classic/) goes head to head. [Check the GLACIER Classic 35L on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F62HMKBX?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20).

## 4. ICECO GO20 with PB250: Best small cordless setup

The [GO20](https://portablefridgeguide.com/fridges/iceco-go20/) doesn’t come with a battery, but ICECO designs it to run from its [PB250 magnetic power bank](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096KJS4MN?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20), a 250 Wh pack (about $139) that sticks to the fridge and also charges phones. Together they cost about $590. That buys a 21-quart fridge with a Secop compressor, a removable dual-zone divider, app control and 3-stage battery protection, at about 25.5 lb before the battery. By our estimate the PB250 runs it for about a day at 90°F. That suits a day at the lake or a tailgate, and when you’re back at the car it runs from 12 V like any other fridge. It’s small, though: with the divider in, each zone holds very little. [See the GO20 on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07THMM1CK?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20).

## Which battery fridge should you buy?

- **You want the most proven cordless fridge and will roll it around:** Anker EverFrost 2 40L.

- **You want dual zones and cordless for the least money:** BougeRV CRD2 V2.0 bundle, accepting a short track record.

- **You already own EcoFlow gear, or efficiency matters most:** EcoFlow GLACIER Classic 35L.

- **You need a small fridge for the front seat that can leave the car for an afternoon:** ICECO GO20 with the PB250.

- **You’ll stay put for several days off-grid:** none of these batteries is big enough on its own. Plan on solar, or the setup in our [overlanding guide](https://portablefridgeguide.com/posts/best-portable-fridge-for-overlanding/).

## The alternative: a plug-in fridge plus a power station

A battery fridge is a fridge and a small power station in one box. Buying them separately has advantages:

- **Price.** The [Euhomy 59 qt](https://portablefridgeguide.com/fridges/euhomy-59qt/) (about $234–260) plus an [Anker SOLIX C300 DC](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D62PMB3R?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20) (288 Wh, about $189) costs about the same as the BougeRV bundle and gives you more fridge space. Expect less runtime, though, because the bigger box uses more power.

- **Flexibility.** A power station like the [EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DCCB657J?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20) (286 Wh, about $299) can also run lights or charge phones and laptops when the fridge doesn’t need it.

- **Better fridges.** You can pair the battery with a fridge that has better insulation, a stronger build or a longer warranty, such as the [ICECO VL45 ProS](https://portablefridgeguide.com/fridges/iceco-vl45-pros/).

The trade-off is a second box and a cable. For a beach or picnic fridge you roll away from the car, a built-in battery is simpler. For longer stays, a bigger battery is the only real answer. Here’s what a 45-quart fridge gets from common battery sizes:

How long a battery runs a 45-quart fridge Estimated hours with no recharging, fridge set to 37°F, lid mostly closed. Based on Dometic's published 1.03 Ah/h for the CFX3 45 at 90°F, scaled by temperature.

| Battery | 70°F outside | 85°F outside | 100°F outside |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 100 Ah AGM / lead-acid | 3.1 days | 2.1 days | 39 hr |
| 50 Ah LiFePO4 | 2.8 days | 46 hr | 35 hr |
| 100 Ah LiFePO4 | 5.6 days | 3.8 days | 2.9 days |
| 1,000 Wh power station | 4.4 days | 3.0 days | 2.3 days |

Usable capacity: lead-acid/AGM 50%, LiFePO4 90%, power station 85%. At 85°F the same fridge needs roughly 80 W of solar with 5 peak sun hours to break even. Your fridge, your settings: [run the calculator](https://portablefridgeguide.com/tools/battery-runtime-calculator/).

## How to get more hours from a battery fridge

- **Pre-cool on AC or car power.** Pulling warm food down to temperature uses the most energy. Start the trip with the fridge and its contents already cold, and the battery only has to maintain it.

- **Use Eco mode once it’s cold.** The maker runtime claims all assume it.

- **Keep it in the shade, and keep it full.** A packed fridge holds its temperature better than an empty one each time you open the lid. Our [hot-weather tips](https://portablefridgeguide.com/posts/portable-fridge-hot-weather-tips/) cover the rest.

- **Recharge while you drive.** All four fridges run and charge from a car socket. A 12V cord rated for the current, such as a [14AWG extension](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BMPX96JL?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20), avoids voltage drop at the back of the vehicle.

- **Add a panel.** At 90°F the EverFrost 2 uses about 260 Wh a day by our estimate. With 5 peak sun hours, that needs roughly 70 W of solar to break even (daily Wh ÷ sun hours ÷ 0.75). A [100 W folding panel](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DPFK9YMX?tag=portablefridgeguide.com-20) matches the solar input limits on the Anker and EcoFlow. Check the connector first. Our [solar sizing guide](https://portablefridgeguide.com/posts/solar-panel-size-for-12v-fridge/) walks through it.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best battery-powered portable fridge?
The Anker SOLIX EverFrost 2 40L. It includes a removable 288 Wh LiFePO4 battery, has a second battery bay, rolls on 6-inch wheels and recorded the lowest steady-state draw in OutdoorGearLab's test group, for about $750–800. The BougeRV CRD2 V2.0 43QT with a 240 Wh battery is the budget alternative at about $430.

### How long does a battery-powered fridge run?
Makers claim 20 to 52 hours on one battery, but those tests are usually done at 77°F with an empty fridge in Eco mode. By our estimate, a 240–300 Wh battery runs a 35–43 quart fridge for roughly 19–31 hours at 90°F outside with the fridge at 37°F. Freezing, frequent lid opening and direct sun all cut that further.

### Can I charge a battery fridge with solar?
Yes. The EverFrost 2 accepts up to 100 W of solar, the EcoFlow Glacier Classic up to 110 W and the BougeRV CRD2 up to 150 W. By our rule of thumb, a 40-quart fridge using about 260 Wh a day needs roughly 70 W of panel with 5 peak sun hours to break even, so a 100 W panel keeps up on a clear day.

### Is a battery fridge better than a regular fridge plus a power station?
It's more convenient: one box, no cables, and wheels on some models. A separate power station costs less if you already own one, can run other gear, and lets you buy a plug-in fridge with better insulation or a stronger warranty. For a cordless picnic or beach fridge, the built-in battery wins; for a campsite with other loads, a power station is more flexible.
